The RYA Southern Zone Squad
Of the 25 sailors in the RYA Southern Zone Squad in 2006/7 five were from the Lymington Optimist Flotilla. You can see all the Lymington Southern Zone Squad in the Members Area. These sailors have worked extremely hard to earn a place in the Zonel Squad and attended six traing weekends over the winter .

Eric Twinane Championships
Some of this year's South Zone Squad sailors were selected to attend the Eric Twinane (ET) Championships, held this year on 12th/13th May at Rutland Water Sailing Club. The ET Trust pays for entries. For more details

Selection Criteria for the Zone Squad for Winter 2007/8

Optimists sailors have to attend the following events:
15th/16th September 2007 Poole Youth Regatta
29/30th September 2007 RYA Zone Championships at Weymouth and Portalnd National Sailing Academy. Entry on line via www.ryaracingevents.org.uk
6th Ocotber 2007 Spinnaker Open Training
Sailors must also complete an application form on line, which will be available via ww.ryaracingevents.org.uk
